• Hello,

Thanks for a fantastic plugin. I spent a few hours setting it up and it looks great, but I have a few questions which I can’t seem to resolve by reading the documentation. I would really appreciate some feedback on the following points to make my website even better.

    1. I have activated the search function and by design you have to specify a column to search which is activated in the Display Column list. Is there any way of searching for information which is in the record but in a field which is not selected to be displayed? It would be great to be able to search within many columns but I don’t want the list view to be too cluttered by showing all these columns, especially when viewed on a mobile phone.

    2. The spacing on the [pdb_single] output is very large. The gap between the lines of text is big so there is a lot of scrolling involved to see the entire record. Again this is exaggerated on a phone display. This seems to be the same on your demo page. Is there any way of reducing the gap between the lines of text? I had a look at the PHP but I can’t figure out how to reduce the carriage return space.

    3. When a new entry is submitted via [pdb_signup] it is immediately visible in the list view and search. Is there any way to prevent this from being available in the list until it is checked by an administrator? I have noticed an approve and unapproved option but I cannot figure out how this filters the display of records to the user. How can I hide any submissions from the search list until validated, then allow it to be displayed?

    4. I have created a page with [pdb_signup] for entering details. There are no other entries or text on this page. When I view the page as a user, there are 2 unidentified boxes located above the first record. I’m not sure what these boxes are or where they have come from. If I remove the [pdb_signup] short code, the boxes are also removed. Do you have any ideas where these boxes may have come from? I can provide a screen grab if necessary.

I am most impressed with your plugin. It is easy to use and gives excellent results. Please keep up the hard work!

    Thanks, K.

    1. you will need to get the Combo Multisearch add-on for this

    2. You could try the “bootstrap” template, it may lay out better, but generally speaking this kind of thing is under the control of your theme. The solution is usually to set up some CSS rules to change how it lays out. You can put rules like that in the plugin settings under the “custom CSS” tab.

    3. You’re looking for approving records. This is in the docs here…

    4. We’ll need a screengrab to see what you’re talking about there, better yet, a link.

    Hi,

Thanks for the fast and full response. Excellent support for your plugin.

I’ll have a look at the combo search – sounds excellent.

I’ve never written CSS before but I’ll do some research and see if I can try to change the output.

Oopps, I’m sorry. I totally missed that section of the documents. Thanks for the link. I’ve now added in the approved field and it’s working a charm.

Here is the page where I’m getting the strange boxes. http://adventures.notperfect.biz/suggest-an-adventure/
It is happening above the form, but it doesn’t appear when the form isn’t there so I’m not really sure what is causing it.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi again,

I have been trying to understand the CSS rules and how they go in the Custom CSS tab and I must admit I’m a bit lost. I’ve tried various things but I’m having no joy.

Could you please post some examples of how they would work and the formatting which I could butcher to give me a leg up on this task?

    Thanks again!

    K.
