Award one badge only?

I am experiencing the problem documented here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/admin-award-recursively-awards-all-achievements-within-an-achievement-type

When attempting to award a single badge at a user’s profile with the “Select an Achievement Type to Award:” option, all badges are awarded. The action button says “Award Badges” next to every badge, and clicking that link awards all badges within the Achievement Type “Badges”. Expected behavior is to award only the selected badge. This becomes a major problem when award notifications and other actions are triggered.

Is there a way to award a single badge within the Achievement Type “Badges”? Thanks!

I’m wondering if the one step is somehow associated with other achievements, and the awarding is making other achievement requirements satisfied.

I also know we have the following, which may or may not be related:

Otherwise, I’d need to try and recreate your case the best I can and see if I can get the same results and determine why.

A little more detail that might be helpful:

When manually awarding other achievement types, like Step, Quest, Community Badge, etc, the award action allows individual selection: http://i.imgur.com/k7Y0K6j.png

The Badges achievement type is different than the rest (the award action is plural): http://i.imgur.com/C3JGAbx.png

This appears to be a “feature, not a bug”.

Just so I’m clear. It is actually awarding the multiple still right? The “Award Badges” part is not a feature nor a bug, it’s mostly a legacy thing from long time ago

So it’s not actually indicating that it’s going to award multiple achievements, it’s just a label issue.

No worries, I have those moments as well, and this is one that isn’t super obvious, without knowing about it ahead of time.
