Autoplay buttons not displaying

Hi,

I am evaluating Smart Slider 3 to replace MetaSlider on our site. The slider is working fine and the autoplay is working fine but I cannot get the buttons to display on the slider at all.

The slider is not currently published on the site so I realise that is not much immediate help that you can give me but I do have it published on a backup site that is password protected. I can give you the password to get onto this site if you want it.

We are using a child theme that was developed for us based on Genesis. The slider is working if embedded in a page on the site but is not working correctly in a widget on the home page. I am hoping that you could give me some pointers to tracking down what the theme is doing that could be blocking display of the arrows.
