automtic language code

    I’ve made a clean install of wordpress, imported my posts using the wordpress importer and installed polylang.
    adding languages results in language codes “en-2” and “de-2”.
    When I try to edit them or to change order nothing happens.
    my problem is: i would like to show my main page with www1.digital-geography.com/en instead of …/en-2

    any ideas?
    WP 3.7.1 polylang 1.2.2, only standard plugin AKSIMET and wordpress importer on the side enabled. standard theme Twenty Thirteen

    That’s because you have already categories, tags, menus or custom taxonomy terms which use ‘en’ and ‘de’ as slug.
