Automatic Update Not Working
-
The WordPress Update function is not working on one of my sites. Whenever I try to upgrade WordPress, plugins or themes via the updater, it either:
- hangs on the next screen with no information,
- hangs on the next screen with a spinner, but no information, or
- puts the site in maintenance mode and hangs
I have other WordPress sites on this server that are updating fine, so I don’t think it’s my server settings.
I’m running the Woocommerce framework and using the theme, Flatsome by UX Themes. I’ve tested each of these on other installations on the same server with no issues.
The Background Update Tester plugin is installed and indicates everything passes.
I have tried removing an re-adding the “updates” directory from my file manager in C-panel. I’ve also checked the file permissions.
Manually updating via FTP works fine, but does not seem to fix the updater issue. I am now on WordPress 4.1.1, but the problem started prior to this update.
I’m using the latest version of Chrome (40.0.2214.115) on OSX Yosemite.
I need to turn the site over to the client for management, but can’t do so until auto-updates work. Any suggestions you can provide would be very helpful.
