Hello,
Please note that we would be discontinuing the existing version of “MC4WP User Sync” as it’s a complicated plugin and depending on the settings, it can cause unforeseen issues like the one you had.
To look into this further, can you please share a screenshot of the “User Sync” settings page?

Thanks, Harish! Are you replacing it with some other plugin or is it being abandoned?
Hello,
We would be replacing it with a new version within the next few weeks.

Thanks, Harish, I really appreciate your help.
I think I understand the issue: we are synching the “Subscriber” role and as soon as the user’s role is changed to say “Buyer” they are unsubscribed from Mailchimp. Is this correct? Please confirm.
If I changed the user role back to “subscriber” will they be automatically subscribed back on mailchimp? Or do I have to use the manual sync option?
Also, if I was to change the sync to “All Roles” will this prevent the user from being unsubscribed when their role changes because all roles are being synched?
Thanks!
Hello,
Yes, that could be an issue. Also, sometimes if the user is unsubscribed, the MailChimp does not allow resubscribing them using API (3rd party plugins).

Hello,
That is one way but it also depends on other settings such as “Users Must Optin”. You need to set this to “No”.
Please also note that due to issues with this plugin, we have decided to discontinue it and remove it from WordPress.org. We would include similar features in the premium version of our plugin within the next few days.
