Automatic <p> added to function in functions.php

I have a function in functions.php that returns a bunch of html mostly a bunch of blah<div>content</div> over and over. But WordPress keeps adding <p> before each which is killing the code. I’ve been at this for 5 hours and nada. Any ideas?
