Automatic Latest Content ignores “Maximum posts = 1”

Hello,

I am using the free version of MailPoet and I am having an issue with Automatic Latest Content in Post Notifications.

Environment:

• MailPoet version: 5.33.0
• WordPress version: 7.0

Issue:
When I set “Maximum posts” to 1 in the Automatic Latest Content block, the actual email still shows and sends multiple posts instead of only one.

Expected behavior:
Only 1 post should be displayed and sent.

Actual behavior:
The editor/preview shows multiple posts, and the actual sent email also contains multiple posts.

What I already tried:

• Deleted the Automatic Latest Content block and added it again
• Created a brand-new Post Notification from scratch
• Recreated the notification/template and tested again

The same issue still happens.

This does not seem to be only a preview issue, because the received email also shows multiple posts.
