autocomplete + user defined text

    I did not find the field I need, also the pro subscription does not seem to help.

    The user should be able to create a list of entries. He / she should be able to chose entries from a predefined options or add custom / user defined entries. So the autocomplete field with the ability to define new options on the fly would be great. But is this possible?

    Hi,

    The field autocomplete only supports to select a value from predefined options. I’ve created a feature request to support adding a new option to the list options if the text does not available in the current list options.

    If the kind of entries like the taxonomy, you can use the field taxonomy or taxonomy_advanced, it supports an option to add a new one.

    Thanks for your quick response and the clarification.
    I was not sure if I missed such a possibility.

    Thanks for the hint with the taxonomies. Maybe I can use this functionality for a workaround.

    Hey!

    Quickly wanted to update you about the usage of the taxonomy_advanced field.
    It works great and actually, it is the better choice for our purpose.

    Besides the meta box field definitions and a custom post type, I registered custom taxonomies to be used in the meta box field.
