Hi,
thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.
It seems that Google is suddenly no longer returning a direct CSV file but an HTML file.
Can you post the exact URLs that you are using for the Auto Import?
Regards,
Tobias
Hi,
ok, that’s returning a CSV file for me, as expected, and as necessary.
For some reason though, Google returns something else to the Auto Import… I’ve actually seen exactly this behavior before, just a few days ago.
Unfortunately, I have no clue why this happens, or why Google is not returning the CSV in that case 🙁
Can you maybe export the wrongly imported table in TablePress to a CSV file and upload that somewhere? Maybe we can reconstruct the content of that HTML page and maybe find more information on that.
Regards,
Tobias
If i manually import the file its fine – its only this sheet for some reason
Hi,
yes, that’s what we found in the other case as well. Really strange…
It would be great if you could get the “wrong” import as a CSV export for me.

Tobias
I’ll have a look when back home
Hi,
thanks. Unfortunately, I can’t really see what’s going on there 🙁 The page’s HTML code doesn’t seem to contain much information, but only JS code through which the content is probably loaded :-/
So, this might be a login page maybe, or some captcha thing by Google to rate limit HTTP requests, maybe…

Tobias
Ok – I have asked the guy who hosts the site to check for any error codes. I wondered if it might be linked to the fact there are 32 sheets in the google doc that will all try to update at the same time, perhaps if I split the document down it might help? (Can you tell I’m not very technically minded…)
Hi,
it might indeed be the fact that multiple sheets are to be imported at the same time. Maybe Google has started to no longer like that and then stops serving the requests…
Regards,
Tobias
I’ll try it and see if that is the case – I just know that updating the content this way has proven to be a godsend rather than having to do it all offline and then manually re-add the tables (have to do it that way because of calculations and formulas)
Hi,
thanks! I’m really sorry that I could not yet help here much 🙁

Tobias
Have split the large document down to individual spreadsheets there appears to be no issue with the content appearing as it should on the website so that must have been the cause of the problems I was encountering.
Hi,
awesome! Good to hear that this workaround helps!
Best wishes,
Tobias
