    Hi john
    Every plugin that you install from WordPress.org auto updates.

    This plugin has some filters and pluggable functions that allow you to add changes and still have updates.

    See wpusersplugin.com – there’s a page somewhere (search on filters and pluggable functions )
    And read up on wp filters

    To disable is a WordPress wide thing – Google disable WordPress (plugin) updates
    Or rename the plugin

    Actually it’s only wp that totally auto updates (newish feature) . I’m pretty sued themes and plugins still need an admin to say ‘update’

    Thanks anmari! I think Jetpack was auto-updating WP plugins. Cheers and thanks for the plugin
