Auto Generated Descriptions Not Showing in Source Code
-
It does not appear that the auto generated source code is appearing on my pages.
It is possible there is some plugin conflict.
Are you able to check to see if All In One Seo is working properly by checking the site?
I do have the settings marked to auto generate the descriptions.
the site is http://pameladwilson.com
Thanks

Hi Peter,
I checked the homepage of your site and everything looks fine, I see your Meta Description:
<!-- All in One SEO Pack 2.2.3.1 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[539,585] --> <link rel="publisher" href="https://plus.google.com/111153513704057762180" /> <meta name="description" itemprop="description" content="Welcome to The Caring Generation, a community of support for family and professional caregivers. Many caregivers feel alone in their journey. if you identify" />Yes, it does work on the home page because that is set in the ALL in ONE settings.
for other pages and blog posts however it doesnt show. Here is the most recent blog post.

Thanks
Nevermind it seems to be fine there.
its weird though, using some SEO tools to check the site are coming back as no descriptions. Maybe because of how those tools look at a page, it could be not in its final html form from the database or something.
Hi Peter,
I’m not seeing any issues at all with the SEO meta on your site. I’d say that the SEO tools you are using may not be very good. We recommend Google Webmaster Tools as it’s from Google and its free. You check check your meta tags here – http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets. If Google says it can see your description then you’re fine.
It seems to me that the plugin is causing my meta data to not show up at all for my rank tracking reporting tools. I see it shows on the source, but my programs cant see it. How do i edit settings to allow me to enter metadata manually – outside of plugin?
Hi NinjaBme,
If the meta data shows up in your source code but the reporting tools you are using can’t read the meta data then I’d say you should try better reporting tools. Any decent tool should be able to read meta tags contained in the HEAD of your site, that’s what all search engines do.
If you want to add meta data without using a plugin then delete all SEO plugins, FTP to your server and edit your theme files to add your meta data. It’s not going to make much difference though if the reporting tools can’t read meta tags in your HEAD.
Hi,
I’m also having this problem for the site http://www.fisiomedicvalencia.com (not home page, which has one edited description, but for interior pages). There’s no meta description in the source code although the option is enabled in AIO.
What might be the issue?
Thanks for your help!
Hi Robert,
What happens if you set a description on a specific page using All in One SEO Pack? Does the description appear in the source code then? Do you have an example page where you have set the SEO description using All in One SEO Pack on that page?
Hi wpsmort,
Yes, if I set a description on a specific page it does show up. For instance:
http://www.fisiomedicvalencia.com/aula-enfermeria/informacion-y-contacto-enfermeria/The rest do not have it, for example:
http://www.fisiomedicvalencia.com/aula-enfermeria/The option Autogenerate Descriptions is more than set 🙂 http://postimg.org/image/d7l2h7phh/
Thank you very much for your help!
Check the box below Autogenerate Descriptions that says Run shortcodes and see if that makes a difference.
No, unfortunately it doesn’t change anything :/
Does your theme use a Visual Page Builder or do you have a Visual Page Builder plugin installed that you are using to build pages?
Yes, the theme has its own Visual Page Builder. This is it: http://themeforest.net/item/envision-responsive-retina-multipurpose-theme/5928018
That must be the reason, because news (normal posts without visual builder) and product pages properly get the autogenerated description, I’ve realised now:
http://www.fisiomedicvalencia.com/noticias-fisioterapia/la-fisioterapia-decisiva-en-la-prevencion-y-el-tratamiento-de-la-osteoporosis/Yeah, we’ve done our best to work with these Visual Page Builders but many of them obscure the content so that plugins such as All in One SEO Pack can’t read it. Unfortunately Autogenerate Descriptions won’t work with the Visual Page Builder you are using.
It’s ok, thanks very much! I now know that the ball is on the theme author’s side and my side.
Thanks a lot for your expedient support.
Best regards,
Robert
