    Hi,

Is there a “getting started guide” of sorts for WP Knowledgebase?

I ask because I’ve just installed and activated the plug-in. I have published 3 test articles as well as the “Knowlegdebase” page itself. However, when I go to the Permalink for the Knowledgebase page, nothing appears (not even a blank page within my theme.)

If it helps to know, after installing, I only switched on (in Knowledgebase > Settings) the Search option, the breadcrumbs and changed the color. that’s it. I see lots of discussion about changing the slug, but I haven’t done this.

Might you be able to point me in the direction of a guide for getting started, or assist in making *something* appear?

    Many thanks in advance,
    -Neil

    Hi Neil,

I’m assuming you did check the installation page here and the FAQs here?

    The main things to try:
    + resave permalink structure
+ check the Knowledgebase Page was actually created in PAGES
+ On the Page, make sure the kbe shortcode appears and page template is set

If you need further help please post a link to your website so I can see it.

    Thanks,
    Maeve

    Hi Maeve,

I did review and confirm that the steps on the Installation page had occurred.

I did not edit the slug manually myself, but I do see that the code on the Knowledgebase page does not exactly match the “Knowledgebase Slug” setting in the Knoweldgebase tab. The former is [kbe_knowledgebase] while the latter is “knowledgebase” (minus the quotes.” Might this be the issue?

None of the articles in the FAQ list seemed to apply to my situation.

I tried the main things you suggested…
I resaved the permalink structure. I confirmed that the Knowledgebase page was in fact created. The kbe shortcode appears on the page and the page template is set to right sidebar.

As far as I can tell, the page should appear here:
    http://paxar.ca/knowledgebase/
    but it obviously doesn’t.

Hmm sounds like you’ve done everything right Neil. Not sure what the issue is… Would it be possible to post some screenshots showing the WP Knowledgebase Settings screen, and the Knowledgebase Page open for editing?

Also, what is your permalink structure set to please?

    Thanks
    Maeve

Ok I can confirm your settings are 100% correct so that rules out any problems there. http://paxar.ca/knowledgebase/ Is simply outputting a blank page… I think it’s probably some sort of conflict with your theme or another plugin. To diagnose which, unfortunately you’ll have to resort to deactivating all plugins and switching to the default theme for testing. Does the KB show then? (it should). If yes, then turn things back on one by one, testing in between each time. At a certain point, the KB will stop working… thus revealing the culprit. Report the results back here and I will try to help further.

    Thanks
    Maeve
