    Hi everyone,

I don’t really need any tips today, but opinions, advice and thoughts.

I have a team working to build my website, and I’m trying to integrate Woocommerce into it. Unfortunately, as the integration of Woocommerce wasn’t part of the contract, I have to do it myself, which normally wouldn’t be that much of a problem with all the help I can get online (as here).

BUT, some conflicts are happening with the theme that was built for the website, and when I ask the team to fix them, they say that the website isn’t built to integrate Woocommerce as it wasn’t it the contract, and if I want the bugs to be fixed, I’ll have to pay for the hours.

The way I see it, there’s a difference between them not integrating Woocommerce for me and building a theme that won’t integrate with Woocommerce. From what I know (I tried to build a site by myself before going for a specialized company), Woocommerce can be integrated with WP’s most, if not any, theme. So I’m not getting why I am having problems with a custom theme that I paid good money for, not with a free theme from WP.

BUT, I’m not a designer nor a web programmer, so maybe I’m missing something here; that’s why I’m asking for third parties advice.

    Thank you very much!

  • Hi @blantoine

    Thant’s a good question.

Please be informed that WooCommerce is a plugin and, technically, can be installed on almost every theme on WordPress website. But the catch is about compatibility. If a theme does not have WooCommerce support then several problems are likely to arise, such as:

    1. WooCommerce pages may not work properly.

    2. WooCommerce shortcodes will be displayed incorrectly.

    3. WooCommerce functionality may not work consistently.

    4. Most importantly, the WooCommerce plugin may conflict with the theme and plugins that you already have.

    5. In some cases the site may crash.

In order to use WooCommerce on your site it is best to make sure that your theme supports it.

    I hope this helps!
