ASE Pro update is timing out

    We use ASE Pro for dozens of sites and have noticed that the plugin times out during updates in about 70% of cases. It started for us with 8.8.4, and while it seemed to be doing better in recent versions all my attempts to update to 8.9.0 are timing out. Results in either an error on the plugin page after timing out, or in some cases with the “WP is being updated” message stuck in place.
