Application firewall interferes with WP dashboard?

Purchased sitelock web security for application firewall. Ever since I went with them everything has being acting up. For starters, my WP Dashboard constantly says I have updates, for example; I updated to 3.7.1. 10 minutes later i refresh, and it shows I have an update again. That goes for the same with plugins. I spoke with them and asked to reverse the DNS back to my servers, and the problem went away. They re-implemented it 2 night ago, and now the problems again. Is it really possible that an application firewall is causing this?? And im at the point where I want to drop sitelock for different web security. Any recommendations??
