    Hi Folks,

I have been using Speculative Loading for quite a while and found it works 100% for me.

My setting are: On: Prerender | Eager | Logged-out visitors only

Yesterday I installed the WP-Statistics plugin to do some testing for a month and immediately started to get unusual and erratic Web Error Messages. However today, I find there are now countless numbers of them.

When I turn off the WP Statistics plugin, the Error Messages stop, so I guess the WP-Statistics plugin is part of the issue.

    The latest Error Message is:

    [Thu Jun 11 13:29:57.206321 2026] [proxy:error] [pid 2417995:tid 2418112] (70008)Partial results are valid but processing is incomplete: [client 116.179.37.106:49111] AH01095: prefetch request body failed to /usr/local/php83/sockets/*****.sock:0 (localhost) from 116.179.37.106 (), referer: https:***Post URL***/

I have no idea what this means for how to fix it, so I would appreciate your advice. However, I note that the 116.179.37.106 IP address is Amazon.com, Inc. and is probably them scraping our site, though disallowed by robots.txt.

    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

Hello. Note that prefetch for Speculative Loading is part of core now. This plugin primarily just provides configuration for it. So I highly doubt Speculative Loading is the cause. You’d probably get the error even with this plugin deactivated. Best to check with the other plugin.

    Hi Weston,
Thanks for your speedy and helpful reply.
I shall follow up with the WP-Statistics plugin and shall not mention your plugin.
    Regards and thanks,

Otherwise, if it is an issue with the Speculative Loading feature generally (the Speculation Rules API), then this could be an issue for core itself.

    Hi Weston,

Thanks for your follow-up. Very much appreciated!! However, I should have taken a little longer to research this.

Following the reply from WP-Statistics (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/prefetch-conflict-with-wp-7-0/) I tested all again, and then checked with WP Debug, which of course is always off. Well, the result then I turned Debug on was immediate and named the source of the issue:

[11-Jun-2026 16:03:57 UTC] PHP Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called <strong>incorrectly</strong>. Translation loading for the wp-statistics domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later. Please see <a href="https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/">Debugging in WordPress</a> for more information. (This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /*****/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6170

I have forward that to them and now await a reply.

Thanks again for all your help and thoughts,
    Angus.
