another ‘insufficient permissions’ sufferer…

When I used the automatic upgrade to 2.8.1, I thought everything was fine and dandy until I got around to wanting to edit posts — then I received the infamous ‘you have insufficient permissions to access this page’ message.

I can get into admin fine, unlike most of the people who seem to have this problem. Really, I can get into everything until I click either the main ‘Post’ heading, ‘edit’ beneath it, or ‘categories’.

I’ve searched for answers both here and in google, and tried pretty much every solution presented. I have deactivated all plug-ins. I have renamed the plugin folder. I’ve done the force upgrade database trick, via both the script and changing the value in the options.php table itself. I’ve set my theme to the default. I’ve gone into the database and looked to make sure I’m set as admin all across the board – user permission are set at 10, and … well, here’s a screenshot of the settings, and it all seems to check out as far as things I’m supposed to be looking for.

I’m honestly stumped here. It doesn’t look like this particular breed of trouble is getting much response, but I’m remaining hopeful; maybe something will click for someone?
