Annual Report – Reliability v1.2

For some reason my original post was closed and I couldn’t add the URLs to my sites, so here goes again;

I just went over and happily posted the results of my 2013 Annual report for my two WordPress built sites. However, after posting this a fried said that he too has a WP site and got numbers similar to mine but a lot of them turned out to be bots and spammers.

He DID mention that he had ” 1,500 spam comments on [his] posts” which suggests he didn’t have any anti-spam plugins installed where as I do.

Still, it raises the question on how reliable the numbers shown in the annual report are and if it’s at all possible to get a very-close-to-accurate idea of site numbers (visitors, hits, etc) if the report ones aren’t accurate.

So…what is the accuracy of these reports? Does anyone know? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
