    Hi there,
I am attempting to make sure that I don’t accidentally have google analytics installed twice on my site. When I search “ua-” in the page source, there are multiple instances of my analytics account number that show up (the correct account). However, there is an extra UA-**** that I don’t recognize and was put there by Site Kit.

I have run the Tag Assistant Legacy chrome extension, and it show two Global Site Tag (gtag.js) and one Google Analytics Tag. Additionally, when I run the GA Debug extension, it shows two analytics.

I’m wondering if this is due to the fact that I have both the older version of google analytics, plus GA4? Or do I have analytics installed twice?

Thank you for the help as I’m new to this and trying to figure it all out 🙂

Hello @theaccentpiece thanks for getting in touch. Looking over your sites source I can currently only see reference to a single UA code ending 602-1 is this your Analytics code you are expecting to see?

Could you check again your site source from an Incognito window to see if you can see the other UA code you mentioned?

Yes, that is the correct code, although I do have a question about that (apologies if this is a dumb question!) My account number in analytics ends in just ***0602. Is there a reason why the code on my site has -1 added to the end?

I still see the UA-****9087-3 code that I don’t recognize when I’m signed in to my admin and view the page source. I guess as long as I only have analytics installed once it doesn’t really matter?

@theaccentpiece okay in which case looks like Site Kit is set up correctly then and Analytics configured. Not a dumb question at all, that’s just how the two platforms display it and is nothing to worry about they are both the same in this regard.

With regards to the UA-130569087-3 Analytics property, which you highlighted, this is a Site Kit related Analytics property, which will appear for you as a logged in user only. This is expected behaviour and doesn’t impact your own connected Analytics property data.

Hope this helps but please do let me know if you have any further questions about this.
