i have checkd out the available themes .. but was really looking for someone out there might have a modified version of a theme for viewing .. to see what mods were made and to get some ideas or existing “education” blog sites ..

I have the same issue!
I am starting a blog geared towards teachers and it needs to be cheerful. In have lots of my own graphics and images and just need something plain that I can import them into and need more cheerful primary colors.
All the blogs on wordpress are so sober and corporate!
Help!
I would like to stick with a wordpress blog as I assume they are tested and will not have bugs…

I think a few designers should tackle this theme category.
Think sesame–disney–color—simple color tabs etc.

i have a template that i can use to make one … but i just wanted to see what others have done in terms of “education”. i agree, most of the themes lack that disney/ sesame street feel ….
