Ampersand Problem

I work for a website that uses wordpress to make its articles. Other people use it with me, but for some reason I’ve run into a problem with ampersands. Now I know in code that ampersands are produced as “& amp;” – but they’ve never appeared that way for me in text view before. They always used to be just “&”. One day all my ampersands ended up being turned into “& amp;” and I want it to stop. When I preview the post, I see just “&” but everyone else sees “& amp;” and has to change it for me. I want my text view to stop replacing my ampersands with “& amp;”. Here’s a link to an image:
Notice the “& amp;”? All my ampersands keep getting turned into those, but I want it to stay as just “&”.

Edit: Okay I see you were just putting the space in for the forums
When I preview the post, I see just “&” but everyone else sees “& amp;” and has to change it for me.
Can you replicate the problem yourself?
In the initial message I said the problem is happening to me. The problem is my ampersands turn into “& amp;” in text view but show up as regular &s in the final post – but other users of the site see it as “& amp;” in final posts. From text view, others see my &s as “& amp;”.
I do not own the site, therefore I cannot deactivate plugins or switch themes – ive asked, but the person who can do this refuses.

Other users on the site see “& amp;” and have to correct it for me because I can’t stop my ampersands from turning into “& amp;”.
