AMP Redirect Issue for Indexing

Hello, we have been working with plugin for awhile and we keep running into indexing issues in google search console. For example, we have 100’s of AMP pages and when I submit them at one point they would get indexed but then the number drops to like 10 pages only! I am not sure if this has to do with a redirect or forcing canonicals???

Also, where in the plugin the canonical url is called within the plugin so you can modify it?

Any advice or help with this is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks – Brandon

You’re using an old version of the plugin, which could be part of the problem.

I’m not sure about the issue you’re facing, however. And by canonical URL do you mean where in the plugin the re=canonical link is added?

Okay, and yes that’s correct about the canonical.

Note it only gets added if another plugin hasn’t already added one.

I’m not sure. You should probably inquire of Google Search Console Help: https://support.google.com/webmasters/community?hl=en

I updated the latest version of the plugin except for our custom template files. However, I am not sure what the best practice is when it comes to the homepage. On one hand, I want to force AMP on any mobile traffic but for our homepage, we ended up redirecting to another fallback homepage called https://flowersfaq.com/home/?amp. It does not seem like good practice to 301 the homepage on mobile traffic and maybe that is why Webmaster is not indexing our site as it should…What do you think?
