Every time you update a post, the AMP plugin will do a loopback request to check it on the frontend for AMP validity.

This can indeed slow down updates, and we want to move toward an async validation approach: https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/2069

But if you have AMP Developer Tools turned off, then this validation process is not supposed to be happening at all.

Please check your Site Health for any issues, including problems with loopback requests.

Interesting and useful, I have Developer Tools enabled, but that problem is I don’t see the tools, I will disable in my profile and see if that changes for me. Still trying to figure out why the Developer Tools aren’t showing.

When Developer Tools are enabled, you should see “Validated URLs” and “Error Index” under the AMP menu in the admin. You should also see validation information in the admin bar on the frontend. You don’t see either of these when AMP Developer Tools are enabled?

I disabled the tool and that fixed it, still weird to say I disabled something that wasn’t showing, but that is another issue. Thanks!

You said you had Developer Tools enabled, but you didn’t see the tools. What tools were you looking for?

It was working, I was not. Thanks! You helped a lot!
