Amazon does not allow affiliate links to be cloacked.
They only allow to shorten the links with amzn.to

I wonder if it would be possible to still use TA to store these links so that they can be centrally stored, tracked, easily inserted across various posts

I noticed the TA pro version has an integration for the Amazon API but I’m not sure what this does? I currently just started using the free version.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @kcaluwae,

Great question – what you will need here is our Uncloaking feature. It’s in the free plugin.

Basically what it does is it removes the cloaking on that link and just shows the destination URL on the page. This happens on page load and it makes it compatible with Amazon Associates’ terms of service.

So you can use ThirstyAffiliates as you normally would, get all of the benefits of the tool like stats etc, then specify that you want that link uncloaked and it will handle it.

We actually made this feature, especially for compatibility with the Amazon Associates program. But it’s handy in other situations too.

The good thing is that you can even make a special category (I make one called Amazon myself on my sites) and then in the ThirstyAffiliates->Settings, Link Appearance, down the bottom you will see uncloaking category. Select your new category there and anytime a link with that category is shown, it will be uncloaked.

    I hope this helps!
