    Hello,
    I added the banner ad JS script provided by Amazon to the Ad Parameters section in Advanced Ads:

    <div class="alignleft">
         <script type="text/javascript">
           	amzn_assoc_ad_type = "banner";
    	amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon";
    	amzn_assoc_region = "US";
    	amzn_assoc_placement = "assoc_banner_placement_default";
    	amzn_assoc_campaigns = "amazonfashion";
    	amzn_assoc_banner_type = "category";
    	amzn_assoc_p = "14";
    	amzn_assoc_isresponsive = "false";
    	amzn_assoc_banner_id = "0AG50GY6P3KKHK2XTM02";
    	amzn_assoc_width = "160";
    	amzn_assoc_height = "600";
    	amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "getbackoncour-20";
    	amzn_assoc_linkid = "cc339099a5196b80958ca5676e41a00e";
         </script>
         <script src="//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&Operation=GetScript&ID=OneJS&WS=1"></script>
        </div>

    I added a Product Categories Display Condition for “Clothing & Jewelry” product categoryHowever, the banner is not displaying on the designated product category page: https://uniquesciencegifts.com/product-category/clothing-jewelry/

    Why is the ad not appearing?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi uniquesciencegifts,

    thanks for reaching out.

    Basically, the principle of embedding ads with Advanced Ads is quite easy to learn:

    • you create an ad unit
    • you optionally group multiple ad units in ad groups (good for rotating ads with refresh-intervals etc.)
    • you assign your ads or ad groups to specific Placements – this will show the ads on specific locations on your website
    • you can set various options like display conditions or visitor conditions to filter your ads and limit thier display based on various parameters – Like for the “Clothing & Jewelry” category

    Once you have set up your Placements efficiently, Advanced Ads gives you powerful functions to deliver ads very flexible in your website’s framework. You can, of course, also embed ad units individually with a shortcode anywhere on your site.

    For information on the first steps with Advanced Ads have a look at our manual “Creating and displaying your first ad” here. There’s a video included.

    Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Have a nice day and stay healthy.

    Kind Regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

    Thanks for your response. Each of the steps in the manual instructions were completed. However the ads are still not appearing.

    Hi uniquesciencegifts,

    Thanks for the reply.

    The store page which displays all of your products might be listed among your static pages but is technically working as a product archive.

    This means that for the General Conditions display condition it responds to the Archives condition, not Singular Pages. For the Post Type condition, it responds to Products post type, not Pages.

    Also placements might not work as expected since you’ll need the Post Lists Placement or the AdSense In-Feed placement to be able to inject ads between your products.

    As a workaround, I recommend using the Sidebar Widget placement to place your ads on the themes’ widget positions (sidebar, after the header, or footer). You can use this placement also on your pages via the Advanced Ads Gutenberg block.

    Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

    I appreciate your insight. Please see my follow up questions below the things you mentioned in your recent reply:

    The store page which displays all of your products might be listed among your static pages but is technically working as a product archive.
    – How does this affect my ability to see the banner that I would like to display using the provided script?

    This means that for the General Conditions display condition it responds to the Archives condition, not Singular Pages. For the Post Type condition, it responds to Products post type, not Pages.
    – I am currently using the Product Categories display conditions. Under the phrase “A page with this ad on it must match all of the following conditions” in the “Display Conditions” section, the string of options reads “Product Categories is Clothing & Jewelry”

    Also placements might not work as expected since you’ll need the Post Lists Placement or the AdSense In-Feed placement to be able to inject ads between your products.
    – The Layout/Output section is set to “default” from the Advanced Ads plugin.

    As a workaround, I recommend using the Sidebar Widget placement to place your ads on the themes’ widget positions (sidebar, after the header, or footer). You can use this placement also on your pages via the Advanced Ads Gutenberg block.`
    – I currently have two placements set from the Advanced Ads plugin: “Sidebar Widget” and “After Content”

    Hi uniquesciencegifts,

    Thanks for the reply.

    The script and your chosen conditions might be sufficient, but I wanted to point out that the ad is simply not appearing on this page because of its technical differences to a “normal” blog post or site.

    Please head to Appearance > Widgets and place the Advanced Ads widget on one of the available positions. Without conditions the ad should now appear in your frontend.

    I also suggest testing the general functionality of your placements using a dummy ad and if this appears trying with the script ad since this shows if the reason for the ad not showing is with the placement or the script.
    You can also test the script using a simple HTML widget without Advanced Ads.

    Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

    Thank you for your response. I was able to get the ad to appear without adding any Display Conditions. This is not ideal because it shows the same ad on every page.

    I’d like to have the ability to pick different ads to display on different sections of the website, specifically on the different Product Categories pages. For example, I’d like to be able to display a clothing ad on the “Clothing & Jewelry” Product Categories page. However, I’m not sure which Display Conditions to select to do this. You mentioned some Display Conditions considerations in your responses: “Archives: Product Categories,” “Product Categories,” “General Conditions,” “Post Type,” etc. Which specific one should I select based on the desired outcome I described?

    Hi uniquesciencegifts,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I copy and pasted the code from your first post to my test page and assigned the ad unit to a sidebar widget placement, placed on a Advanced Ads widget, with the result that the ad is showing. https://i.imgur.com/Ng3D5IK.png

    I also use the WooCommerce default theme and the only difference I was able to spot is a slight difference within your ad code from your first post and the one on your website. I recommend testing the code from above again.

    There is also confirmation on the issue with the categories. Please use the “Archive: Product Categories” condition instead of the “Product Categories” one to address your product categories and sort our ads.

    Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

    The display conditions are working now. Thank you so much for your assistance!

    I have another question! Is it possible to add more than one ad to a page on a website? The first ad is working, but when I try to add another ad, it doesn’t appear.

    Hi uniquesciencegifts,

    sure, the number of ads you can manage using Advanced Ads is only limited by your servers resources.

    I still suggest testing this first using a dummy ad without conditions and the placement of your choice. If you have trouble placing an ad, please open up a new thread, providing me with additional information about the ad and placement settings you choose. A general overview about placements and their usage is here to find.

    Best regards,
    Henning
