Alternative Path

We are hosting on Pantheon and received the following message from them:

The only writable path in live is wp-content/uploads, so those permissions can’t be changed as it’s considered part of the code base for security. Similarly, the wp-content/uploads is writable by the web daemon but PHP code can’t be executed. Usually setting an alternative path in the plug-in settings is possible

however, this plugin seems to have /wp-content/cache –

We would like a way to override this default path to something like /wp-content/uploads/cache so we can make it compatible with our hosting provider. Is this something that can be added? Or is it a feature I missed? Thanks
