Alternative header for subpages

Ok, it is clear to me that the headerproblem has not yet got a good solution that works on all devices. So I want an alternative header on the subpages. Not a picture, because that would still crop the image or shows half of it. I want a clean image, just one color.
How can I add a header that shows everywhere, leaving the mainpage header as it is?
