Alternate Navigation Menu

I am creating a website which needs to be translatable into Italian. After trying out different automatic translator plugins, I have decided to create 2 pages for each page, one in English and one in Italian. Is there a plugin that would let me switch between two different main navigation menus or is the only way of doing this to buy two domain names and link the two sites?
