Alt & Title text below images

    Hi,

    I am trying to do the following so the Alt & title text gets added below my images:

    In your dashboard, click Pluginns > Editor from the left-hand nav
    2. Select plugin to edit: NextGEN Gallery
    3. From right hand file list, click:
    nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-caption.php
    4. Scroll down to this line:
    php echo $image->caption
    5. Change to:
    php echo $image->alttext

    However I can not find “nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-caption.php”

    Please can someone help?

    @steverit – I would actually recommend creating a copy of the “captions” template and saving it to the same folder as the current one. As it is, the editor within WordPress (by default) does not have the necessary scope to edit that particular file, you will need to use an external editor and save it to your site appropriately.

    Thanks Cais, but where do I find the “captions” template?

    @steverit – Here is the default path:
    ../wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view/gallery-caption.php

    Hi Cais,
    I went to the path that you gave me and made the change. Unfortunately I still can not see the image names below the thumbnails. I noticed you gave the the path which has “ngglegacy” which is different to the path which is shown earlier. Please help 🙂

    @steverit – The path I provided is to the current location of NextGEN Legacy templates … I would suspect you may have been trying to follow an outdated tutorial in your original post.
