Verify that you have set Role priorities and the Role for access to write posts has a higher priority than other User Roles.

It’s very odd. I tried this the other day and it worked, but today I came back to it and it’s no longer working. I gave the role that I want to be able to write posts a priority of 80, higher than all roles other than administrator, but the add new post link is again redirecting to the home page.
Settings:
Can access wp-admin? Yes
Force hiding adminbar in frontend? No (although I would like to be able to set this to yes)
upload_files: Yes
edit_posts: Yes
edit_published_posts: Yes
read: Yes
All other WP capabilities are currently unchecked, although I have experimented with enabling e.g. publish_posts and delete_posts without success.
@rhodie
it worked, but today I came back to it and it’s no longer working.
Do you have a WP caching plugin or Web hosting caching active?

It is a wordpress.com site with Jetpack, but Boost is not installed. However, under “Performance & speed” these settings are enabled: “Enable site accelerator”, “Speed up image load times”, and “Speed up static file load times”. I will try disabling those and let you know.

I came back to it today and it’s working. I haven’t changed anything since the previous update, when it wasn’t working. Very mysterious.
