All stores missing – EXTREMELY URGENT!
-
I have just updated this plugin to the latest version & all my stores have gone missing. They are not in the WordPress dashboard area & obviously not on the frontend of the site. Has anyone experienced this with the latest update? Any fixes?
Thanks in advance.

Just upgraded to 2.2 but the page below search bar is all gone and not working.
So I have to restore to previous version.
Do I need to set up settings again on the new version?
Are you using any caching plugins like W3 Total Cache or cloudflare? If so, try to flush the cache.
What’s the URL?
Hey there,
Love the plugin. Started with version 2.1.2 and all appears to be okay. The client has reported now from 2 different users, that the PINs are blank, including the starting point. They sent a screenshot, and it appeared as so. Every Mac/PC here still loads them fine. I noticed an update notification, so I tried the update, but it failed with an “Update failed: Plugin update failed.” message which doesn’t give me much to go on.
Any ideas? Thanks! Ron
@rhalversen What’s the URL of the website of the client? If you can’t share it here, can you send it to info at tijmensmit.com?
“Update failed: Plugin update failed.”
Have you tried it again? WP handles the downloading of the latest version and unpacking / replacing the files. Maybe it couldn’t connect to wp.org to get the latest version? Updating other plugins doesn’t show that error?dentalandbraces.com/locations is the page the plugin is on.
Best – Ron
Tried updating over the course of 5 hours, once an hour, all with the same results.
Tijmen,
My locations are once again down. they were working fine then updated the plug in and now they can not be viewed. This happened about 4 months ago same thing and i had to go in and type each one back in. what is going on?my bad, there is a notice to convert and I did not want to convert because of what happend last time but did pushed the button and it all seems to have worked, sorry to winning I was just worried i would be spending the next week updating one at a time. All works great Love this Plug In one of the best i have
@rhalversen If it keeps failing, then maybe the folder permissions are not correctly set. Can you check if the permissions for the wp-store-locator folder are the same as for the other plugin folders?
Also try to enable WP_DEBUG. So you open the wp-config.php, and add this code:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );Save the file and try to update the plugin again. Once you have done that open the debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory to see if there are any errors in there.
Can you also check the server error log if something shows up there pointing to a problem?
@bradc5372 did it actually convert locations again, or just show the notice? Let me know if you see the notice again after installing a future update, because that shouldn’t happen.
Tijmen,
My front-end developer writes:
Tried updating. It wouldn’t update. So I did the other stuff he said.
The folder permissions are fine. (edited)

Only getting one error[2:19]
[22-Mar-2016 19:04:27 UTC] PHP Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in /home/afddev/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1518[2:19]
that might be the problem.[2:19]
hope that helps.[2:20]
I turned debug mode back off because errors would be visible to the end user.Thanks- rhalversen
@rhalversen The only thing I can think of is to manually download the latest version, and overwrite the existing files in the wp-store-locator folder through FTP.
Maybe your host can see why the update keeps failing? Downloading the file and unpacking it is handled by WP itself, not by the plugin.
My first guess would have been an issue with folder permissions, but it they are fine, then I’m not sure what could cause this problem. Although maybe the server somehow locked a file in the wpsl folder preventing the update from installing, but this is something your host would have to look into ( not sure how likely this is ).
Hello i am trying to upgrade from Version 1.2.25 to your latest version can you please tell me how to do so without losing our current data and
@rmcwilliams2004 just install the latest update through the plugin page in the admin area. Only a couple of users out had issues with the notice asking you to convert the old locations not showing.
The old data will always be there since the update doesn’t remove the old db. If no notice is shown, then you can force it to show up by lowering the version number of the plugin in the db.
Tijmen it still won’t upgrade , also when I put it in manually it doesn’t list show in map but not in list please help
