All posts did not transfer

I was running my wordpress 2.5 on my PC on WAMPSERVER..and i followed every possible way to migrate it. I dumped the MySQL tables onto the new database in the new host, transferred wp-contents folder using ftp to the new host where i ran wp fresh install. Imported the original WXR file to the new site and the site was running after activating all the plugins. BUT, the big problem is its showing only half of the posts i had. Especially posts where i had pictures are not showing as well as some of the categories headings in the main page are not showing. I tried installing it again to check but to no avail. I cant seem to get all my posts. The WXR file is only 500KB. Something tells me that WP is not completely reading the WXR file..or may be the WXR file generated is not complete.Please help…
