I have multiple blogs running on the same grid server.

For some reason without changing anything that I am aware of I am getting this dialog box in WP when I try to update or install a new plugin:

    Connection Information
To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access your web server

    Hostname
    FTP Username
    FTP Password
    FTP or FTPS

I put in the correct info and the installation wheel spins and then says:

    Failed: Could not create directory

I assume and have read that this is a permissions issue? I have gone to my admin center of my server and changed the permissions to be 777 read/write/execute on the entire directory the wordpress install is in.

I have never had to put this info in before, so I am not clear what might have changed.

I would love some guidance on how to figure out what the issue is and how to resolve it.

    Thanks very much

I found this on the topic, but I have no understanding of why all the sudden my WP blogs are ALL having the same issue?

Now when I try to add a plugin using my SSH client (Cyberduck) it says:

“550 Can’t create directory: Disk quota exceeded. Please contact your web hosting service provider for assistance.”

I checked my server disk usage and I have more than 95% available?

I went back and updated my storage report on my server and low and behold I was tapped out? No idea. SO I guess that is the issue at hand, just deleting a lot of unused data and I image everything will be back to normal?
