hi eventualo,
I’ve seen that you have answered a similar question in the past:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-alo-easymail-newsletter-problem-sending-batched-newsletter?replies=3
what I don’t understand is weather the newsletter must be send the gmail server (if I have given a gmail address) or is it being sent by the smtp server of my site? how can I know? or set this?
I would extremley appreciate your help and if you think you can solve this, I will be happy to pay you for your work.
many thanks!
You don’t have to use gmail or other smtp server mail. Of course, it’s better than simple php mail.
About the spam issue, the reasons can be several… Please search in google some newsletter-best-practices-guidelines and check you newsletters against them.
For example I found this useful guide:

hi,
many thanks for your swift reply!
I know that there are many reasons why the newsletter will fall in to spam, but since I have only sent a test Email, with one line of text and no images, just a bit of text and links – so nothing “suspicious”, and since it was sent to only 2 people I was surprised that both test mails landed immediately in the spam.
this is more puzzling even since I have tried other plugins (but moved to yours since it supports multilingual content better) and they did not land in the spam. (I tried Newsletter plugin by stefano lisa)
I would really love to use yours, but have no idea what could be the problem since the content is fine and the server is also OK…
any ideas?
thanks a lot!
