good news is that I am getting links to this thread come up in my email so it isn’t a misspelling of that which is the problem but it still doesn’t recognise it!
I have tried the password reset since the problem but it won’t recognise my username or email.
I don;t know what myphp is nor where to find it. I have read the first link and it says don’t do this if you don’t know what you are doing.
I followed a bookazine to get WP dowloaded onto my PC and then to set up a site. ARGH.
The only thing I know how to use to get into the ?dashboard for the site is this link

which gives no options about what I can do without being able to give a username it accepts.

I just had another go and got the message :
this username is not recognised. change pawwsord
clicked on change password and got:
“Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.
ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”
however, I am getting forum replies via the email address.
It doesn’t seem to make sense
know what myphp is nor where to find it
Who is your host (Godaddy, HostGator, Bluehost, etc.)?
