    Hi @ragequit,

I’m sorry for any frustration here. However, we do have solutions!

First, we do not recommend using the Other SMTP option (which requires you to enter email credentials) unless absolutely needed. All other mailer options use APIs, which protect you from adding sensitive details to your WordPress site.

If you do choose to use Other SMTP, though, then we strongly recommend adding these details as constants within your site’s wp-config.php file. This keeps those values out of your site’s admin area, and also out of the site’s database.

We share how to do this directly within the plugin settings page (WP Mail SMTP > Settings) when Other SMTP is used, as well as in our Other SMTP setup tutorial.

You can even use this wp-config constants option if you’d like to keep other settings out of your site’s admin area and database, including API keys for other mailers. We’ve shared the code needed for this in our constants tutorial.

I hope this helps, and that you’ll consider revising your review!

Also, please know that we provide complimentary limited support to all free version users over in our .org support forum. We’re happy to help there with any questions you might have.
