For anyone that is also looking at this. You can mostly fix the problem with the tag generator page by removing the “hidden” class from the main div for the pane and changing it to “control-box”

The old tag would look something like this:
<div id="wpcf7-tg-pane-<?php echo $type; ?>" class="hidden">

and the new one looks something like this:
<div class="control-box">

Like I said, changing the class will at least make it work in 4.2 of CF7 and it will still work for older versions. This will allow you to make it work while, like me, you work on bringing it completely up to what the way the tag panes in CF7 work now.
