Akismet Problems

    Greetings.

    I started receiving a large quantity of spam comments that weren’t going straight to the deleted items area. So, I went to check my Akismet Configuration and got a blank page except for the little blue area on top with the menu items.

    So, I uploaded a new version of Akismet and have the same problem.

    Please help! I have a very popular blog and it is being killed by spam.

    I tried bumping up the memory_limit value in php.ini from 8M to 16M and that fixed similar problems for me. Try that.

    Thanks, but where do I find the php.ini file. Is it the one for Askimet or is it another one somewhere else that’s part of the wordpress install.

    Vince, you may need to contact your domain host provider about the php.ini file – it’s usually server-side resident and not in a folder you can access.

    If the host is okay with changing to a higher memory limit, they’ll just bump it for you.
