TablePress
[resolved] AJAX call failed (39 posts)

Hallo ich bekomme folgende Fehlermeldung wenn ich eine Tabelle mit 97 Zeilen und 5 Spalten speichern möchte:

AJAX call failed: parsererror - SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unexpected identifier "Array". Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

As these are the English language forums, I'll reply in English. I hope that's ok.

Most likely, something is raising an error message and that breaks the JSON format. If possible, I'd like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file "tablepress.php")? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

I am having the same problem. I am creating a new table and when I go to save it it tells me
Saving failed: AJAX call successful, but unclear data. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

when I try again it again, holding down the shift key, it says
Error: The table could not be saved.

    I'm on a Mac, OS 10.6.8
I've made and saved tables before and never had this problem. I'll start a new table and see if I get the same problem. If I don't I'll repost.

I tried again with a new table and got the same results. Interesting fact is that I'm able to add the table to a new web page, publish it, and even after I logged out then came back the table was there. So maybe it doesn't matter, it's just disconcerting to get the message.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Most likely, there's something interfering with the save process here.

I am having trouble finding your email address. I've looked on the plugin home page, I found your blog and the homepage for tablepress but I can't find your email address. If you go to my webpage, http://www.shipyardwomensclub.org, you can contact me through the page with your email address and I'll set you up. Thanks, Joan (Evrust)

    Good Morning Tobias,
This is getting to be quite a challenge. I did not receive an email through the contact page. I just tested the contact page twice sending test messages to two of my different email addresses. Maybe you can either try it again or perhaps give me more specific directions as to where to find your email address. Meanwhile I'll see if I can get creative.

    Hi,

ok, then I suggest that you try to find my address again: It's both in the main plugin file "tablepress.php" (in the tablepress folder on your server), and also on this page of the website: http://tablepress.org/impressum/

    Regards,
    Tobias

SUCCESS!! In case anyone else has this problem, make sure you've got the latest version of WordPress and TablePress. Updating those two did the trick for me. Super support Tobias, can't thank you enough. Having a great plug in is one thing, but to get this level of support is absolutely stellar!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Can you please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and switching to a WordPress default theme? Then re-activate them one by one and retry every time. That way, we can find the plugin that is causing this interference.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks, I have received. Unfortunately, I can't access the admin area, as the login form does not load.

This, but also the TablePress issue, could mean that there are memory issues.
Please try increasing the value of the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT constant in the wp-config.php file to 512M with the help of http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

ok, then please also set WP_DEBUG to true.
We will have to find out why the login form is not working.

    Hi,

TablePress tables are stored with the "tablepress_table" Custom Post Type in the "wp_posts" table.
By the way: The login form is now loading for me, but the account details that you have sent are not working :-(

    Regards,
    Tobias
