    Can anyone please write down a procedure – list of things to do right after uploading and installing wordpress. What I exactly want to know is which folders and files should have what CHMOD.

    I have it running nice and smooth but installing a PLUGIN or UPDATING a wordpress itself doesn’t seem to work and I can’t find a way to fix it. It must be something with permissions I figure.

    Depending on the server configuration, you may not have to change any file or folder permissions – hence there is no definitive procedure list.

    What errors to you see when you try to install plugins or run upgrades?

    Hi esmi,

    First it takes long time when the server is doing something and then I get the message below.

    OK
    The server encountered an internal error or
    misconfiguration and was unable to complete
    your request.
    Please contact the server administrator,
    webmaster@… and inform them of the time the error occurred,
    and anything you might have done that may have
    caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available
    in the server error log.

    Have you contacted the admin? If so, what did they say?

    I haven’t. I will maybe tomorrow but somehow I doubt they will be of any help maybe I will have to switch to other host
