    Read the following interesting article on moving your WordPress.com hosted blog to your own WordPress.org hosted blog. There are pros and cons, you’ve identified one of the cons, you have to learn how to manage this yourself, and some functionality is missing by default, but can be re-enabled through the use of plugins.

    Thanks for the links. I mostly began the migration because .com doesn’t allow monetization. That’s the ONE feature I wanted, or I wouldn’t be dealing with this mess. Blogger does allow it though, and at this point I might just switch.

    Another potential idea is to post a job to http://jobs.wordpress.net/ and seek a professional to help you with you migration and set up. At least that way you can benefit from people’s professional experience and get your website up and running how you want it.
