"Advanced" picture inserting

Hellos all!

I want to end up with a page/post with lots of same sized picture thumbs, organized into neat rows and columns.

Is there a way to use the [gallery] command so that it would define the size of the pictures?

Or is there any super-simple picture inserting plugins (all the flash-based ones are too heavy and sort of ugly) that would accomplish this?

So far I’ve accomplished this remarkable feat by creating a table in HTML and inserting the photos in the cells. I added ca. 100 photos which took me a full day with this method since I had to write the code for every single table, row, and cell (also I had to insert the photos one-by-one with the slowish WP uploader).
