@lajoshek There have been a few changes to the structure of Google reviews recently so it may not recognise the various elements.
Please can you drop me an email to wordpress dash plugins at designextreme dot com with the HTML in a text file attachment?
When I have this, I can test the process with this version and create an update to the plugin that will support this without the gaps in data.
Thanks!
Hi,
I have used the Advanced Html Import, pulled all my google reviews and setup my synchronization to run daily. So that part is working as expected. Today, there were 3 new google reviews added but I don’t know if the API will automatically sync it up at a certain time each day or do I need to do the manual HTML import every time I have new reviews?
Thank you so much for this great plugin!
@webgigabyte This is slightly different to the query here because your HTML Import is working correctly.
The data from the HTML Import is of a slightly lower quality due to the relate time description rather than an actual timestamp. So, if the Places API provides new information that matches an existing record, then this will be applied in its place.
Just leave the automated Places API data retrieval set as the update frequency you have (Daily) and very occasionally check with the HTML Import to see what reviews may have been missed (these are new, but not regarded as “relevant”).
@lajoshek I await your email or a reply.
@designextreme thanks for your reply. It still didn’t reload the new google reviews. I have to manually redo the import process on the Advanced tab to pick up new google reviews even with the Daily Sync setup.
@webgigabyte The Places API will only ever deliver the most relevant reviews according to your language. This is not the same as the newest.
If you would really like for a complete and current set of reviews, you may need to use the HTML Import more frequently. However, this isn’t something that I believe most people will need to do – even if new reviews are appearing each day. The reviews on your site, if sorted by relevance, will closely match the reviews showing in Google for the same language.
Unfortunately, this is a slight limitation of the Places API and functionality doesn’t currently exist to request only the newest reviews.
Hello,
today I tried again and it was working fine…
Thanks
@lajoshek OK, that’s good. If you do experience the same issue again, please drop me an email with the HTML. Thanks!
