one more limitation, it is not possible to block single IP address
78.110.60.230
I have tried to enter: 78.110.60.230-78.110.60.230 and it says: “Valid: 1 addresses in range”
but when I click on Block Visitors Matching this Pattern
there is message:
“An error occurred
The first IP address in your range must be less than the second IP address in your range.”
can you please allow blocking single IP addresses as well ?
Hello peraburek,
you can block one IP at the top of the “Blocked IPs” page.
You can add as many rules as you want on the Advanced Blocking. You don’t have to put all rules in one rule. If you block 10 or 20 referrer spam per entry you do not have to edit the rules, just keep adding more.
hello, yes I have noticed I can add single IP (78.110.60.230) to “Blocked IPs” however then I have those IP listed in “Wordfence activity report widget on dashboard” all the time
however if I add 2 IPs (78.110.60.230-78.110.60.231) range to Advanced Blocking, they are not listed on “Wordfence activity report widget on dashboard” and this is my wish, just to be able to see number/ammount of hits
regarding amount of rules in Advanced Blocking, you are right, but it is not very convenient to add 9 rules, instead of 1 rule with bunch of domains
in endeffect everything is the same, all entries are added to .htaccess but you have to click around 9 times instead of 1 time
counting hits is affected by Falcon engine
I didn’t combine rules in Advanced blocking, there are only two test rules, with two different IP ranges for testing purposes
if I choose “Enable Basic Caching” hits are counted correctly, example: 4 blocked hits Last blocked: 3 mins ago
if I choose “Enable Wordfence Falcon Engine” hits are NOT counted at all, example: 0 blocked hits Last blocked: Never
