• I’ve been trawling this and the Adsense forums for days now and still no one has a solution to the ad problem. Since the update my ads stopped appearing. A couple of days ago I was attempting to get them to appear on pasting ad codes into my widgets to test and now I have one ad per page, but it’s clearly all messed up, if I take the ad out of the widget box, all my ads disappear from site.

    This has to be a WordPress problem, it has to be connected to the pdate, my Adsense earnings have dropped to a little over £1 a day and the site is my livelihood. I don’t want to roll back to the last version, I understand this security update was necessary but why is there no help when things mess up? All I did was update a necessary update and now I’m losing a day’s wages every day and no one can help 🙁

    I see two ads on your linked page, one in the center and one in the footer – how many do you expect?

    what does the developer of your theme have to say to your problem?

    It’s not theme specific, have already checked with my developer, and these forums are full of people having the same problem and they aren’t using the Salient theme.

    I was attempting to test out the ads and using the footer widget to do so, when I put the Adsense code for the responsive ad in the footer ALL of the responsive ads reappear on site (no sense or logic there) but it works, but only the responsive. If I put a 200×200 in the footer, ALL the 200×200 ads appear on site. I don’t want any ads in the footer but it’s the only way I can make any ads appear on site. If I remove that ad code, ALL ads disappear. Clearly a coding glitch.

    Right now I have to go and spend hours changing all my fixed sized codes for responsive (about 100 ad codes) just so they appear, and all because I updated WordPress in an essential update, and it seems no one has a solution.

    How were the adverts put into the page? Were they added like this into the Text editor:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/updatepage.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    updatepage();
    //--></script>

    ?

    Yes, just raw text code.

    <script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
    <!– RA Responsive (Sidebar Widget) –>
    <ins class=”adsbygoogle”
    style=”display:block”
    data-ad-client=”ca-pub-1402436233399427″
    data-ad-slot=”8972192547″
    data-ad-format=”auto”></ins>
    <script>
    (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
    </script>

    Still no reply, half my ads still missing on site, only the responsive ad will work on the page and only because it’s in the footer widget making the site look a total mess. My Adsense earnings have fallen from £20 a day to £3-£4.

    Is there at least someone working on sorting this? I put 30 hours a week into the site, writing content and stuff, I have writers to pay that I’m not sure I’ll be able to pay next month and despite loads of people on these boards having the same issue, I haven’t seen one solution yet.

    As you’re losing money, it’s probably better to hire someone to fix it for you: http://jobs.wordpress.net

    I’ve already had my own tech team work three days on it to no resolve, I haven’t just come on here demanding answers. We’re not just a two bit operation. There is a limit to how much I can spend out trying to fix something I didn’t break though.

    The issue was caused by the last WordPress update. I’m not the only person having issues with this and there is no help at all coming from WordPress who put the update out. I really thought this was a helpful forum, but all I’ve had is unhelpful replies. The moment WordPress was updated the ads stopped appearing. Many, many people using many different WordPress templates are having the same issue.

    The issue is indeed from the WordPress update, but there are workarounds. There are adsense plugins that at least use shortcode to put the adverts in, most of these can be found by searching the plugins repository with the keyword “adsense”. Goodluck, hopefully there will be other helpful people that you can get better answers from.
