• Hi,

I am trying to connect my site to adsense for the first time. I am not pasting ad unit yet. All I want for now is to paste the first code that will connect my site to adsense so that google can review it, but I keep getting the following message:

Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

    I do follow the directives:

    1) Copy the code below
    2) Paste it into the HTML, between the <head> and </head> tags
    3) Check the box and click done when you finish.

    What is wrong with this?

    Thank you!

I used a plugin Health Check plugin and two critical issues shown up about my WordPress configuration and items:

SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate

Should I uninstall the Free SSL security certificate? And then, reinstall it after ?

I asked in Slack about this error “Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors” and Otto said:

server misconfiguration or paranoid security settings
basically, server can’t contact itself, either because it lacks DNS configuration, or because it doesn’t know how to route to itself that way, or because some security is in place preventing loopback.
Result will be the theme and plugin editors will not work, wp-cron cannot run, which in turn leads to pingbacks not being sent and scheduled posts don’t work.
Oh, and because it can’t call back to itself to detect the audio filetypes, the built in podcast functionality won’t work.

So, how to fix it ?
