• Hi, I am totally new at this. My wordpress blog is up and running and I edited the html in Front page to insert adsense in the header as a link and the body. Saved it in Front page and then copied it via FTP to the file manager (using liquidweb). I changed the new file name to index.php and renamed the old one to oldindex.php. Even though I can now see my new blog on the web including the ads, when I go back to WP to add another blog entry, it does not update on the web. The editor shows the entry is there but it does not publish to the web. Did I do a disconnect somewhere? ~ Thanks. Anke

  • yes, you did. Obviously.

dont edit wordpress files in frontpage.

Put back whatever file you renamed.

don’t edit wordpress files in frontpage

That’s the keyword. Practically, you can delete FP or if you don’t, never open it when working with WordPress.

Ok, I deleted front page, reset my index to the original worpress theme before I added adsense. Then I used notepad to add in adsense and it worked. However, when I want to update wordpress with another post, it still does not communicate with my webpage. I have checked the file permissions which I have changed to read & wrote in all categories but that did not change anything. What else could cause this dis-communication between wordpress and file manager in cpanel? ~ Thanks, Anke
