‘Administrative privileges needed to do this’ error

    Im getting this error when uploading to my server:

    Sorry, but you don’t have the administrative privileges needed to do this.

    I checked permissions of the folders they are 755 so should be good, anything else i need to check? thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    this is working fine on my local host however so i dont think its a plugin problem

    Is it possible to disable a plugin if you cant get into the admin panel because of the error?

    i got around this my renaming the corrupt theme with my ftp client to something different and then i renamed the default theme to the name of the theme that was causing the error “Sorry, but you don’t have the administrative privileges needed to do this”
