Administering our WordPress website
-
We recently had our company website rewritten by a developer that used WordPress to do the job. Upon completion, we were given Administration access to the site. There are several things that we have the ability to modify/update on the site through the WordPress Dashboard. We have made a few of these changes with the little bit of help we get from the developer, but we haven’t done it often enough to make it second-nature yet.
Is there a good place we can refer to for instructions on how to do things like: replace downloadable files, add news and events items to their appropriate pages, and perhaps even change the content on pages? Such instructions would be most useful if they followed a format similar to:
1. Log in to the WordPress Dashboard for your site.
2. Click on the Media link in the menu on the left.
3. On the Media Library screen, click the Add New button.
4. etc.The website can be found at: http://abacusseries.com. The content we know we can update can be found by clicking on the pink EVENTS tab, the CHECK OUT OUR NEWSROOM link, or the green or blue “Click for…” or “Download…” buttons.
We would like to be able to maintain our website with the tools and access we have been given without having to go back to the developer every time. They are hosting the site, so we don’t need code-level expertise, just the basics.
Thank you.
